CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Amanda Frost, Brooke Quigley and Danielle Herdliska combined for 60 points, leading Mount Mercy to a 79-65 victory over Wisconsin-Platteville in Sunday's non-conference women's basketball game at Hennessey Recreation Center.
The Mustangs (3-5) connected on 52 percent of their field goal attempts and outscored the Pioneers (2-3), 25-8, at the free throw line. Frost was 10-of-13 from the floor during a 24-point afternoon. Quigley had 19 points, a game-high nine rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Herdliska finished with 17 points and a pair of steals. Freshman guard Callan Timms added eight points and four steals off the bench. Junior guard Carrie Wood tallied seven points, four boards, three assists and three steals.
The Pioneers got a game-high 25 points and seven rebounds from Kim Wellnitz. Alyssa Krajco had 15 points and three steals, Rachel Cropp seven points and four assists, Claire Poad six points and five steals.
Mount Mercy is at Ashford on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Kehl Arena in Clinton. The Mustangs will try and avenge a 73-52 home loss to the Saints on Nov. 14 at Hennessey Rec Center.
