CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- St. Ambrose led by seven at halftime and took control after the break to hand Mount Mercy its ninth straight loss, 71-47, in a Midwest Collegiate Conference women's basketball opener on Thursday at Hennessey Recreation Center.

The Mustangs (3-14, 0-1 MCC) didn't get a single point from their bench as the Queen Bee reserves outscored Mount Mercy's bench players, 39-0. Senior guard Brooke Quigley had her fourth 20+ point game of the season, finishing with 21 points and four rebounds. Junior forward Amanda Frost added 13 points and freshman guard Makenzie Zeitler grabbed 13 boards.

Katie Schuler topped the Queen Bees (13-2, 1-0 MCC) with 21 points, including four 3-pointers. Lauren Cash tallied 13 points, Samantha Saladino 10 points and seven rebounds and Ashley Dexter six assists and four steals.

In the first of three straight conference road games, Mount Mercy is at AIB on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Des Moines.
