CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Mount Mercy men's cross country team tied for third at the 20th Annual Mustang Gallop on Friday night at Jones Park.
Dylan Eigenberger helped Iowa Central to the team title, winning the individual championship with a time of 16:27 in the 5K. Mustang senior TJ Mosbach finished seventh in 17:24. Junior Tyler Hartley was 14th (18:08) and senior Mitch Johnson 16th (18:18).
Also racing for Mount Mercy were freshmen Tyler Steele (28th/19:08), Devin Stone (42nd/20:40) and Eric Hansen (45th/22:29). Iowa Central topped the team standings with 27 points, followed by NIACC (66 pts.), Grand View and Mount Mercy (107), William Penn (111), Mount Mercy Alumni (143) and Ashford (156).
Next on the schedule is the inaugural Five Seasons Dual with intra-city rival Coe on Saturday, Sept. 14. The Mustangs and Kohawks will race at 11:00 a.m. at Morgan Creek in Cedar Rapids.
