CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Mount Mercy women's soccer team lost a pair of matches over the weekend, dropping a 6-1 decision at Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) on Saturday and a 4-0 defeat at Briar Cliff on Monday.
The Wolves out-shot the Mustangs nearly 3-to-1 on Saturday in Milwaukee, Wis. Mount Mercy had seven total shots, with junior midfielder Nicole Morrow scoring an unassisted goal in the 88th minute for the Mustangs.
Senior goalkeeper Jerica Christensen stopped eight shots in her first start of the season. She added eight more saves in Monday's loss to the Chargers in Sioux City. Briar Cliff scored twice in each half to hand Mount Mercy its third straight defeat.
After four straight road games to start the season, the Mustangs (1-3-0) have four in a row at home, starting with Central Methodist (Mo.) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Lower Kingston Field.
