GRINNELL, Iowa -- Junior Madison Goodfellow carded a 3-over-par 75 to claim medalist honors, leading the Mount Mercy women's golf team to its third title of the fall season at Saturday's Grinnell Invitational at the Grinnell Golf and Country Club.
Teammates Kelsey Dircks, Meg Monson and Mikayla Smith also finished in the top 10 for the Mustangs. Dircks ended up fourth after an 82. Monson and Smith each shot 84 to tie for seventh. Sheridan Berte tied for 11th with an 87, Kelsey Kernan tied for 25th with a 93.
Mount Mercy's 325 team total was three strokes better than William Penn's 328. Augustana (Ill.) was third (354), followed by Monmouth (Ill.) (360), Grinnell (364) and MacMurray (411). The Mustangs also won the Knox (Ill.) and Monmouth invitationals earlier this month.
The Mustangs host the Donald Ross Collegiate Invitational on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 6-7. Play starts at noon on Sunday and 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the Cedar Rapids Country Club.
