CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Mount Mercy volleyball team picked up its first Midwest Collegiate Conference win on Wednesday, sweeping AIB, 25-15, 25-15, 25-15, at Hennessey Recreation Center.
Sophomore middle hitter Emma Pisarik tallied 12 kills while hitting .524 and also collected six digs and two blocks. The Mustangs also got nine kills, eight digs and four service aces from freshman outside hitter Cori Peterzalek.
Freshman middle blocker Leslie Hoffmann ended up with eight kills and seven digs. Sophomore setter Allie McQuiston had 33 assists, junior libero Kara Oakley a team-high 12 digs.
The Mustangs (6-16, 1-2 MCC) and Eagles (3-23, 0-3 MCC) square off again on Friday at 8:00 p.m. Mount Mercy also faces Clarke and Missouri Valley on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and noon at the Kehl Center in Dubuque.
