CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Mount Mercy held an early lead in each set, but Culver-Stockton (Mo.) rebounded each time and swept the Mustangs, 26-24, 25-19, 25-12, on Think Pink Night for breast cancer awareness on Tuesday at Hennessey Recreation Center.
Freshmen Leslie Hoffmann and Cori Peterzalek reached double digits in kills. Hoffmann drilled a team-high 13 kills and added 10 digs, while Peterzalek finished with 10 kills and eight digs. Sophomore setter Allie McQuiston tallied 33 assists. Hoffmann and sophomore middle hitter Emma Pisarik each had two total blocks.
The Mustangs (7-19) are on the road for four straight matches before returning for their home finale on Oct. 29. Mount Mercy goes to Clinton for a non-conference match with Ashford on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 6:00 p.m. at Kehl Arena.
