It was the first outing of the year for the Mustangs, who had their own tournament cancelled on Friday because of heavy rain in eastern Iowa on Thursday. Midwest Collegiate Conference rivals St. Ambrose (339) and Viterbo (Wis.) (343) finished first and second in the team race, respectively. The host Vikings (367) came in third, followed by Mount Mercy (372).

Freshman Bailee Goodfellow tied for 14th in her collegiate debut with a round of 93. Other Mustang golfers included sophomores Katelyn Hufford (T24th/97), Kristine Kouba (26th/98), and Emily Knepper (T29th/100), and freshman Kayla McGrew (38th/109). Medalist honors went to Victoria Brown of St. Ambrose, who fired an 80. Her teammate, Caitlin Childers, and Viterbo's Chelsey McCoy tied for second with 82s. Lauren Lindsley of Viterbo was fourth with an 83, Wilberg fifth at 84.

Next up for the Mustangs will be the Knox (Ill.) Invitational on Friday, Sept. 11, at 8:00 a.m. in Galesburg, Ill., and the Monmouth (Ill.) Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 9:00 a.m. in Monmouth, Ill.
