Photo of Laura WilbergCEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Mount Mercy women's golf team was back in action over the weekend, finishing seventh at the Knox (Ill.) Invitational on Friday and fifth at the Monmouth (Ill.) Invitational on Saturday.

Sophomore Laura Wilberg tied for 15th with an 89 at Knox. Freshman Bailee Goodfellow was right behind her, shooting 90 to tie for 18th. Other Mustang golfers included sophomores Katelyn Hufford (T43rd/100), Jessica Mrkvicka (T46th/103), and Emily Knepper (T52nd/105).

Maryville (Mo.) won the meet with a 329 team score. Elmhurst was runner-up at 344, followed by Millikin at 361, Illinois College at 371, Grinnell at 372, Robert Morris (Ill.) at 378, and Mount Mercy at 382. Kayla Eckelkamp of Maryville was medalist with a 4-over-par 76.

Wilberg led the Mustangs again on Saturday, tying for 21st with a round of 90. Goodfellow posted a 93 and tied for 32nd, Hufford shot 94 to tie for 37th, Mrkvicka carded a 97 and tied for 41st, and sophomore Kristine Kouba shot 106 to tie for 67th.

Maryville was the team champion again with a 320 team total. Millikin moved ahead of Elmhurst for second place at 344. Elmhurst tallied a 351, Grinnell was fourth at 360, and Mount Mercy, Robert Morris, and Illinois College tied for fifth at 374.

This weekend the Mustangs compete at the St. Ambrose Fall Classic. Tee times begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Eldridge and 11:00 a.m. Sunday in Davenport.
