Vladimir VirovkicCEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Clarke's Jason Reno scored in the 85th minute to force overtime, and Peter Bayliss scored the game-winner with eight seconds left in the second extra period to give the Crusaders a 2-1 victory over Mount Mercy in Midwest Collegiate Conference men's soccer Tuesday at Lower Kingston Field.

Freshman midfielder Vladimir Virovkic scored on an assist by junior midfielder Gabe Rosales in the 30th minute to give the Mustangs (6-4-4, 2-1-1 MCC) a 1-0 lead. It appeared that lead would hold up until an ejection forced Mount Mercy to play a man down for the final six minutes of regulation.

The Crusaders (5-3-3, 3-1-1 MCC) took advantage of that, as Reno scored the equalizer one minute later. After nearly two full overtime periods, it appeared the match would end in a tie, but Bayliss headed in a cross by Kraig Moore for the deciding goal.

Both goaltenders made some terrific saves, including a few in overtime. Mount Mercy sophomore Nenad Simovic saved seven shots on goal, while Clarke's Phillip Flores stopped nine Mustang scoring attempts.

Mount Mercy hosts Viterbo (6-5-1, 3-1-0 MCC) in league play on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Lower Kingston Field.
