And for the fifth time, the match ended in a tie when the Mustangs and Viterbo (Wis.) played to a 2-2 draw in Midwest Collegiate Conference men's soccer on Saturday at Lower Kingston Field.

Junior forward Marko Urlic found the back of the net on a pass from freshman forward Jose Alvarez to give Mount Mercy a 1-0 lead just before halftime. The V-Hawks tied it just nine minutes into the second period, then took a 2-1 advantage on a successful penalty kick by Jamie Robertson in the 81st minute. The Mustangs responded when Alvarez set up freshman forward Enrique Cortina's team-high seventh goal in the 85th minute to force overtime.

Mount Mercy, now 6-4-5 overall and 2-1-2 in the MCC, had never had more than two ties in any season since 1992. Viterbo moved to 7-5-2 on the year, including a 4-1-1 mark in league play.

The Mustangs finish up a four-game homestand this week, hosting Waldorf in conference play on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. and Grand View in MCC action on Seniors Day, Saturday, Oct. 17, at 3:00 p.m. at Lower Kingston Field.
