MCC logoCEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Mount Mercy has earned the No. 4 seed and will host fifth-seeded Clarke in the quarterfinals of the Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament on Sunday at noon at Lower Kingston Field.

The Mustangs, who wrapped up the regular season at 7-6-5 overall and 3-3-2 in conference play after a 2-0 road loss at William Penn on Saturday, get a chance to avenge a regular-season loss to Clarke. The Crusaders (6-7-3, 3-4-1 MCC) scored with eight seconds left in the second overtime to defeat the Mustangs, 2-1, on Oct. 6 in Cedar Rapids.

The MCC Tournament opens with ninth-seeded Waldorf (5-13-0, 0-8-0 MCC) at eighth-seeded St. Ambrose (3-14-1, 2-5-1 MCC) on Thursday. The winner of that match gets top-seeded Ashford (15-0-2, 6-0-2 MCC) in Sunday's quarterfinals. Also on Sunday, seventh-seeded William Penn (7-8-1, 3-5-0 MCC) visits second-seeded Viterbo (Wis.) (10-5-2, 6-1-1 MCC) and sixth-seeded Iowa Wesleyan (5-13-0, 3-5-0 MCC) goes to third-seeded Grand View (10-5-2, 6-1-1 MCC).
