Photo of Justin LeasLA CROSSE, Wis. -- The Mount Mercy men's golf team competed at the Robbie Eastman Invitational, hosted by Viterbo (Wis.), finishing 10th in a 15-team field Sunday and Monday at La Crosse Country Club.

Senior Justin Leas was the top finisher for the Mustangs, placing 31st out of 72 golfers with rounds of 78 and 81 for a 159 total at the par-72 course. Junior Ben Montgomery tied for 34th (83-78=161), senior Shane Parmenter tied for 43rd (84-81=165), senior Jason Juhl tied for 61st (96-82=178), and freshman Jon Larson came in 68th (93-89=182).

Dusty Drenth of St. Ambrose was medalist, shooting 74 and 71 to finish at 146. After a two-hole playoff, Wisconsin-Eau Claire claimed the team title with a 607. Host Viterbo also finished at 607, followed by Iowa Wesleyan at 610, St. Ambrose at 611, and Waldorf at 629.

Mount Mercy wraps up the fall season with the first two rounds of the 2008-09 Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament, Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 13-14, at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa. The final 36 holes of the tournament will be played at the end of the 2009 spring season.
