The Mustangs cruised to their fourth straight win, handling Viterbo (Wis.), 63-45, in Midwest Collegiate Conference play at R.W. Beggs Gymnasium.

Mount Mercy is 10-2 since Christmas, with both losses coming in back-to-back overtime games at home against William Penn on Jan. 16 and on the road at Grand View on Jan. 21. Wednesday's victory over Viterbo allowed the Mustangs (16-9, 8-3 MCC) to keep pace with league-leading Iowa Wesleyan (18-7, 11-1 MCC) and Grand View (20-6, 10-2 MCC).

Mount Mercy will take on 14th-ranked Iowa Wesleyan, winners of seven in a row, on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Ruble Arena in Mount Pleasant. It's a rematch of the Mustangs' 58-50 win over the Tigers on Jan. 9 in Cedar Rapids.

Senior guard Catalina de la Quintana was the lone Mustang in double figures at Viterbo, nailing three 3-pointers and 7-of-8 free throws during a 20-point night. She also had three assists and four steals. Sophomore guard Ashley Koch added eight points and four assists, sophomore guard Micha Mims seven points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Senior forward Shanda Novak chipped in six points and a team-high six boards.

Sammy Weaver had 10 points and five rebounds for the V-Hawks (6-19, 2-9 MCC). Joni Stanek tallied nine points and five boards, Sally Colby six points, and Dani Templin five assists.
