Photo of Josh WatznauerPhoto of Keith KuenstlingMOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- Led by senior forward Keith Kuenstling and junior forward Josh Watznauer, Mount Mercy outscored Iowa Wesleyan, 57-26, in the paint and pounded the Tigers, 97-71, in Midwest Collegiate Conference men's basketball on Saturday at Ruble Arena.

Kuenstling and Watznauer totaled 36 points and 23 rebounds while shooting a combined 14-of-22 from the floor. As a team, the Mustangs (18-8, 6-6 MCC) shot 48.1 percent from the field and outrebounded the Tigers (8-16, 3-10 MCC), 55-37. Mount Mercy also recorded assists on 28 of their 39 field goals in gaining a regular season sweep of Iowa Wesleyan.

Kuenstling finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots for the Mustangs. Watznauer's double-double included 15 points and 14 boards, and he also had two blocks. Junior forward Marty Tope added 11 points, senior guard Jake Carey nine points and a game-high six assists. Junior guard Jake Cram tallied seven points and four rebounds off the Mount Mercy bench.

Jared Callanan nailed six 3-pointers and had a game-high 22 points for the Tigers. Brett Azinger chipped in 14 points and four steals, Patrick Macki 12 points and six rebounds.

Mount Mercy hosts Clarke in league action on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Hennessey Recreation Center.
