Mount Mercy women's basketball photoKANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Mount Mercy women's basketball team, winner of three of their last four games, wound up 33rd after receiving votes in the final NAIA Division II top 25 poll of the season.

The Mustangs (19-11, 11-5 MCC) wrapped up the regular season with victories over Clarke, William Penn, and Ashford and a narrow loss to 18th-ranked Grand View. Mount Mercy received 14 points in this week's poll, in between Southwestern (Kan.) with 17 and Dickinson State (N.D.) with nine.

Iowa Wesleyan (22-7, 15-1 MCC), the regular season champion in the Midwest Collegiate Conference, finishes the year at No. 13 in the nation. Grand View (23-7, 13-3 MCC) moved up a spot to 17th this week. St. Ambrose (23-7, 11-5 MCC) is the fourth league team in the poll at 37th with four points.

Third-seeded Mount Mercy hosts sixth-seeded Waldorf (10-19, 5-11 MCC) in the quarterfinals of the MCC Tournament on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Hennessey Recreation Center.
