Photo of Bailee GoodfellowPhoto of Laura WilbergHANNIBAL, Mo. -- Mount Mercy sophomore Laura Wilberg was runner-up and freshman Bailee Goodfellow finished third at the Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Northwoods Golf Club.

The Mustangs were second as a team (687), posting scores of 345 and 342 to finish just six strokes back of team champion Quincy (Ill.) (681). The final round 342 by Mount Mercy was its lowest single-day team score of the 2009-10 season.

Wilberg was tied for fifth after an opening round 84, then carded an 80 in the second round to finish at 164. Goodfellow was tied for the lead after shooting an 82 on day one. She followed up with an 83 to end up at 165 for the tournament. Emily Fletcher of Quincy (Ill.) edged Wilbert and Goodfellow for medalist honors with a 163 total that included rounds of 83 and 80.

Other Mustang golfers included sophomores Katelyn Hufford (T10th/86-88=174), Jessica Mrkvicka (T18th/96-91=187), and Kristine Kouba (T18th/93-94=187).
