Photo of 2010 Mount Mercy softballAMES, Iowa -- Top-seeded Mount Mercy will take on fourth-seeded Waldorf in game two of the 2010 Midwest Collegiate Conference Softball Tournament Final Four on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The two-day, double-elimination tournament will be held at the Southwest Athletic Complex on the campus of Iowa State University. Second-seeded William Penn (42-11, 16-6 MCC) and third-seeded Grand View (21-28, 13-8 MCC) square off in Saturday's opener at 10:00 a.m.

The Mustangs (33-9, 19-2 MCC) swept Waldorf (16-20, 12-9 MCC), 1-0 and 6-5, in a league doubleheader on April 17 in Forest City. The winners of game one and two will meet at 3:00 p.m., followed by the losers of game one and two at 5:30 p.m. Due to William Penn's Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, the game times could be switched for Saturday's second round.

Action continues on Sunday beginning at 11:00 a.m. The championship game is slated for 1:30 p.m., with a second game to start approximately 30 minutes after it ends if necessary. The winner receives an automatic berth in the 30th Annual NAIA Softball National Championship, May 20-26, in Decatur, Ala. It would be Mount Mercy's fourth national tournament appearance and first since 1990.
