CANTON, Mo. -- Mount Mercy dropped the opening set of Tuesday's non-conference match at Culver-Stockton (Mo.), but won three straight to claim a 22-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-22 victory over the Wildcats at Charles Field House.

Sophomore outside hitter Brittney Thomas produced 15 kills in 33 attacks to lead the Mustangs (4-1), who also defeated Culver-Stockton at last weekend's Zio Johno's Mustang Invitational. Senior middle blockers Jena Blint and Amanda Menke tallied seven kills each, junior outside hitter Becca Lampe six.

Blint, sophomore middle blocker Allison Adams, and junior middle blocker Deidre Schaefer anchored the Mount Mercy defense, helping the Mustangs to 8-1/2 total blocks. Adams had four block assists, Blint and Schaefer three apiece. Senior libero Beth Ripperger had a team-high 23 digs, Thomas added 17.

Mount Mercy hosts Wartburg in non-conference play on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Hennessey Recreation Center.
