MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- The Mount Mercy track & field teams recorded a dozen all-time top 10s at Saturday's Hilltop Invitational hosted by Cornell at the Small Multi-Sport Center as the Mustangs geared up for next weekend's conference championships.

Sophomore Jenna Higgins accounted for three of Mount Mercy's all-time top 10s. She ran a :07.38 in the preliminaries of the 55 meter dash, which is seventh on the school charts, and followed that with a :07.36 in the finals to finish third in the event with the sixth-fastest time in school history. Higgins missed her own school record by .01 in the 200 meter dash, finishing fourth with a time of :26.93.

Senior Beth Ripperger ran the second-best 800 meters in school history, placing third in the event in 2:20.86. She also ran the leadoff leg of Mount Mercy's 4x800 meter relay, helping senior Kori Yotter, junior Kara Danielsen, and freshman Mackenzie Holladay crack the school's top 10 list at No. 4 with a time of 10:20.33.

Senior Kelsey Hansen added to her fine indoor season with a pair of all-time top 10s in field events. She was runner-up at Cornell in the weight throw with the second-best toss in school history (50'-11"). Hansen also placed sixth in the shot put with a 39'-8 3/4" throw that sits at No. 6 on the school charts.

Freshman Allie Ziskovsky also broke into the top 10 in the shot put, entering at No. 10 while coming in eighth on Saturday with a toss of 38'-5 1/2". Sophomore Larissa Wilden now holds seven of the top 10 high jump marks in school history after Saturday's leap of 5'-1 3/4". That's tied for fifth all-time and was good for third place at Cornell.

Junior Cody Robertson added his sixth time to Mount Mercy's all-time top 10 list in the 55 meter hurdles on Saturday. He was eighth at Cornell with a time of :08.51, which is tied for ninth in school history.

The men's distance medley relay team of freshmen TJ Mosbach and David Carbajal, senior Matt Clarke, and junior Mike Miroux placed second on Saturday with the third-fastest time in school history (11:07.76). The same four teamed up to finish fourth in the 4x800 meter relay in 8:34.97, which is fourth on the all-time list.

The Mustangs compete at the Midwest Collegiate Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Sterling, Ill.
