OSHKOSH, Wis. -- The Mount Mercy men's bowling team made its third trip to the state of Wisconsin last weekend, finishing seventh out of 16 teams at the Titan Invitational at Oshkosh Lanes.
For the second straight tournament, freshmen Shane Arment and Dylan Walters led the Mustangs. Arment placed 16th with a 195.80 average that included 979 pins in five team games. Walters was 19th, totaling 969 pins over five games for an average of 193.80. Freshman Nathan Wright finished 35th (919 pins/5 games/183.80 avg.), junior Ryan Schlueter 62nd (775/4/193.75), freshman Jacob Jones 71st (697/4/174.25) and freshman Ryan Miller 113th (327/2/163.50).
Wisconsin-Milwaukee was the team champion with 8,276 pins, followed by Wisconsin-Whitewater (8,036), Wisconsin-Madison (7,935), Midwest Collegiate Conference rivals Viterbo (Wis.) (7,906) and Grand View (7,683), Winona State (Minn.) (7,595) and Mount Mercy (7,497). Kyle Coffman of Grand View took the individual crown with 1,084 pins and a 216.80 average.
The Mustangs compete at the ISYL Leatherneck Classic on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3-4, at Miller Time Bowling in Davenport and Milan, Ill.
