Head Coach- 6th Season

Williams, who became Mount Mercy's head women's golf coach in 2006, has an extensive background in the game of golf, including experience as a coach, player, and consultant. He coached high school golf at Cedar Rapids Jefferson from 1973-77 and Quincy (Ill.) from 1979-80. As a senior amateur player, Williams has been selected four times to play on the Iowa team in the prestigious Tri-State Cup Matches against Minnesota and Wisconsin. He holds a 14-8-2 won-lost record in those competitions and an 11-3-1 match play record in the Cedar Rapids v Iowa City Challenge series.

Williams served two three year terms on the Board of Directors of the Iowa Golf Association, is a current member of the Herman Sani Scholarship Committee, founded and served as executive director of the Greater Cedar Rapids Junior Golf Association, and served on the tournament committee for the Cedar Rapids Men's City Amateur Championship for a dozen years.As a peak performance consultant, he has conducted seminars for PGA professionals throughout the United States.

Williams, who runs PROformance Consulting, earned a B.S.E. in Education from Kansas State Teachers College (now Emporia State) in 1970 and M.A. in Secondary School Administration from Northeast Missouri State (now Truman State) in 1979. His five-year record at Mount Mercy is 152-165-4.
