Jamie Jimison
Head Coach- 2nd Season

Jimison, a native of Sardinia, Ohio, holds USATF Level II certification in sprints, hurdles and relays. He became Mount Mercy's head track & field coach and assistant cross country coach prior to the 2010-11 season. Jimison joined the Mustangs after serving as head men's and women's track & field and cross country coach at Union College in Barbourville, Ky.

In his first season with the Mustangs, Jimison coached an NAIA all-American and NAIA national champion. There were 11 individual national qualifiers in 13 events and Mount Mercy counted seven NAIA Scholar-Athletes last year. In addition, the women's indoor and outdoor squads were on the NAIA Scholar Teams lists.

Jimison built both programs from scratch at Union, and in four seasons with the Bulldogs, had 10 NAIA all-Americans and a national champion. He also counted five NAIA Scholar-Athletes during his tenure, and was the Appalachian Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2009 after leading Union to the AAC men's outdoor track championship.

Jimison competed in track & field and cross country at Berea College in Berea, Ky., where he was a three-time NAIA national meet qualifier for the Mountaineer cross country team and qualified for the steeplechase at the NAIA track & field national championships.

An NAIA Scholar-Athlete, Jimison earned a B.A. in physical education and health from Berea in 2003. After that, he served as an assistant track & field coach with the Mountaineers in 2004 and went on to earn a M.A. in physical education and health from Union in 2008.

Jimison and his wife, Bethany, currently reside in Cedar Rapids.

Assistant Coach- 11th Season

Scheckel, a certified Level II United States Track & Field Coach, has produced outstanding results since taking over Mount Mercy's cross country program prior to the 2001-02 season.

He was the NAIA Region VII Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2001 after guiding the Mustangs to the regional championship and a berth in the NAIA national meet. In the fall of 2003, Scheckel was the Midwest Classic Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year after leading both squads to MCC titles -- the first ever for the Mustang men. He claimed the women's coach of the year award again in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 when Mount Mercy won the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth MCC women's titles in school history. Scheckel was the MCC Men's Coach of the Year for the second time in 2010 after leading the Mustangs to their second league championship.

As the men's and women's track & field coach from 2001-2010, Scheckel led the women's squad to five straight MCC outdoor championships (2004-08). He was named MCC Women's Track & Field Coach of the Year in each of those seasons, as well as in 2010 when the Mustangs were runner-up in the MCC.

Over the past 10 years, the Mustang cross country programs have had 17 individual NAIA national meet qualifiers, while the track & field squads have had 48 athletes compete at NAIA national meets. During that time, the cross country and track & field programs have also counted 31 NAIA Scholar-Athletes. In 2010, the Mustang men's and women's cross country and men's and women's track & field teams were all named NAIA Scholar Teams.

Prior to coaching at Mount Mercy, Scheckel was a member of the Mustang men's cross country and track & field teams. A two-year captain and MVP of the men's track & field team, he set six school records and was a two-time NAIA indoor track & field national meet qualifier. Scheckel was also the Most Valuable Performer of the 2001 MCC Outdoor Track & Field Championships after winning four titles at the annual conference meet.

Stephanie Francois-Miller
Assistant Coach- 7th Season

Francois-Miller, a 2002 Mount Mercy graduate, was a two-sport standout for the Mustangs, lettering all four years in track & field and volleyball. She was an NAIA indoor national meet qualifier in the 55 meter hurdles as a senior, was Mount Mercy's team MVP three times, and set school records in the 55 meter hurdles, 60 meter hurdles, 100 meter hurdles, and 200 meter hurdles. Francois-Miller also helped the Mustangs set a school mark in the 4x400 meter relay.

Jennifer Duffy
Assistant Coach- 7th Season

Duffy, graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, was a member of the UNI women's track & field team for five years, throwing the shot, weight, hammer, and discus. She was an all-Missouri Valley Conference performer in 2002 and qualified for the Drake Relays in the discus in 2003. Duffy coached throws at Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School in 2004-05 and is currently the sophomore volleyball coach at Cedar Rapids Washington High School.
