
McKenna Sexton
Position: Utility
West Branch, Iowa/West Branch H.S.
McKenna, a multi-sport athlete at West Branch, collected 12 varsity letters and received all-conference recognition in softball. She has also been active in band, marching band, jazz band, choir, journalism, the Bear Newspaper, student government and cheerleading. McKenna, a three-time honor role student, will study biology at Mount Mercy and would like to be a doctor.

Morgan Sickles
Center Point, Iowa/Center Point-Urbana H.S.
Morgan helped lead Center Point-Urbana to its first winning record in several years last summer. She has also played travel softball and fall and spring softball leagues. Morgan is active in Just Eliminate Lies (JEL), writing for the school newspaper and speech. She will major in secondary education and either history or English, and plans to minor in Spanish as well.

Tori Nimmo
Position: Pitcher/Infielder
Morton, Ill./Morton H.S.
Tori played for Morton High School and the Morton Mystics travel team. She was twice voted team captain as well as being awarded varsity team pitching ace her sophomore and junior years. Tori has been a cheerleader for four years and named captain twice. She plans to major in elementary education and would like to coach softball.

Jordan Melville
Position: Pitcher/Second Baseman
Oregon, Ill./Oregon H.S.
Jordan has been a four-year starter at Oregon High School and also a member of The Adrenaline travel ball team out of Rockford, Ill. She was twice named first team all-conference and twice named to the all-area team by the Dixon Telegraph, as well as being named to the academicall-conference team.

Kira Dailey
Position: Outfielder
Iowa City, Iowa/City High
Kira will receive her fifth varsity softball letter at City High School. She received honorable mention all-conference, recipient of the Most Supportive award and the Iowa City Press-Citizen Prep Profile of the Week. Kira has also been involved with basketball, Spirit Club, Interact Club, cheerleading and band. She is a member of the National Honor Society and recipient of the John R Hughes Leadership Award and the Hills Bank Youth Leadership Award. Kira was also on the Honor Roll all four years and will major in criminal justice.

Megan Bolten
Position: Outfielder
Indianola, Iowa/Indianola H.S.
Megan was a three-year starter at Indianola High School and a member of the Outlaw travel ball team program prior to enrolling at Marshalltown Community College, where she started in the outfield for the Tigers. Megan will be studying elementary education at Mount Mercy.

Leah Harris
Position: Pitcher/First Base
Des Moines, Iowa/Des Moines Christian H.S.
Leah will become a five-year starter for Des Moines Christian during the 2012 season. She earned first-team all-conference honors in 2010 and 2011, all-district in 2011 and all-state honorable mention in 2010 and 2011. Leah is active in DMC's concert band, pep band and marching band. She participated in the conference honor band and Drake University's honor wind ensemble. She has been on the honor role for four semesters and plans to major in nursing at Mount Mercy.

LJ Putzier
Position: Outfield
Des Moines, Iowa/Des Moines East H.S.
LJ is a three-year academic letterwinner with a 4.0 grade point average. She is a two-year letterwinner in volleyball and three-year letterwinner for softball. LJ's Des Moines East team won the Class 4A state championship in 2011 and she was named second-team all-conference in the CIML in 2011 and an NFCA academic all-American. LJ intends to major is nursing.

Catie Flaucher
Position: Pitcher
Independence, Iowa/Kirkwood C.C.
At Independence High School, Catie was named to the all-conference and all-district teams from 2007-10. She was also honored with all-state awards three times, including first-team laurels in 2010. At Kirkwood, Catie was named the NJCAA National Player of the Week in March 2011. She will be majoring in elementary education at Mount Mercy.

Elizabeth Moore
Position: Pitcher
Pleasantville, Iowa/Pleasantville H.S.
Liz has been involved in softball and basketball at Pleasantville High School. In addition to her athletic career, Liz is a member of the National Honor Society and is in speech, drama, band and jazz band. She is a member of the local 4-H and Art Club as well. Liz has extensive travel ball experience playing softball with the Outlaws out of Indianola. She will sutdy communications at Mount Mercy.

Hannah Petersen
Position: Pitcher, Outfielder
Cedar Rapids, Iowa/C.R. Jefferson H.S.
Hannah is a four-time first-team all-district and all-Metro selection. Three times she has been named the Mississippi Valley Conference division player of the year. Hannah has also been named first-team, second-team and third-team all-state during her career. She was last year's Metro Player of the Year. Hannah will major in pre-medicine.

Carson Burgart
Position: Catcher, Shortstop
Cedar Rapids, Iowa/C.R. Jefferson H.S.
Carson has earned six varsity letters, including four in softball and two in cross country. She was named to second-team all-Metro last year after receiving honorable mention during the three previous seasons. Carson was also named honorable mention all-Mississippi Valley Conference last year. She has carried a 4.0 grade point average throughout high school, is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Council on Youth Leadership and was named academic all-conference in softball and cross country. Carson will major in nursing at Mount Mercy.

Amanda Gaffey
Position: Infielder
Cedar Rapids, Iowa/C.R. Kennedy H.S.
Amanda was a first-team all-conference infielder as a junior at Kennedy. The three-time letterwinner is also an honor roll student who will be majoring in criminal justice.

Brianna Sturtz
Position: Second Baseman, Shortstop
Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City West H.S.
Brianna has been a four-year starter at Iowa City West and has won the Most Valuable Defensive Award three consecutive years. She received honorable mention all-Mississippi Valley Conference honors as a sophomore and junior. Brianna is also a three-year letterwinner and co-captain of Iowa City West's top-rated basketball team and has received all-MVC honorable mention in basketball. A member of the National Honor Society, Brianna has not declared a major at Mount Mercy.

Virginia Brust
Position: Pitcher, First Baseman, Outfielder
Rochester, Minn./Mayo H.S.
Virginia is an honor roll student and involved in community activities such as FCA and school mentorship. A three-time letterwinner in softball, Virginia also has extensive travel ball experience including 16-under nationals. Virginia is also the team captain on the Mayo diving team. She will major in nursing at Mount Mercy.
