Mount Mercy, a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) and the Heart of America Athletic Conference (The Heart), offers varsity competition in men's basketball, baseball, golf, soccer, cross country, track & field and bowling, and women's basketball, softball, volleyball, golf, cross country, track & field, soccer and bowling. Competitive cheer & dance and men's volleyball will join Mount Mercy's varsity lineup in 2016-17.
These programs have combined for 44 MCC team championships while sending teams and individuals to regional and national championship events. In addition, Mount Mercy student-athletes are annually recognized as NAIA Scholar-Athletes and Champions of Character. If you prefer a more recreational approach, you can choose from a number of intramural programs including basketball, volleyball, golf, flag football, softball, and cross country.
