Cheer squad defeats York, places second in pair of duals
SEWARD, Neb. -- The Mount Mercy competitive cheer squad competed in a pair of duals over the weekend, defeating York and then finishing second against Dordt and William Woods at the Day of Duals hosted by Concordia.
The Mustangs posted a score of 67.96 to 49.73 for York in one of Saturday's competitions. Dordt finished first in a three-team dual with Mount Mercy and William Woods. The Defenders scored 78.80, then it was the Mustangs at 64.96 and the Owls at 61.56.
"Both our competitive cheer and dance teams had an incredible weekend at Concordia, each taking home first place wins in their duals and earning highly competitive scores in their trios," said Head Spirit Squad coach Michaela Carle. "We strive to get better and better each day and because of the work each team has put in, the scoresheet took care of itself."
