Mustangs Place Third at Heart Championships

OLATHE, Kan. - The Mount Mercy dance team placed third at the Heart of America championships, taking place this past weekend in Olathe, Kansas.

The Mustangs scored an 81.57 during their routine, trailing only the champions from Grand View by eight points and second place Baker by two points. Individually, three Mustangs garnered Heart all-conference nods, with Claire Jones and Caitlin Lee landing on the second team, while Emma Papesh earned honorable mention honors. Head coach Tanisha Phelps was also named the Heart Co-Coach of the Year, earning the honor along with the head coach from Baker.
