Historic Weekend Leads Mustangs to First Place at Kohawk Invite

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Mustangs men's bowling team took full advantage of a home weekend, setting a new program record as a team at the Kohawk Invite.

The team averaged over 230 pins per game over the course of qualifying, easily taking home first place with a total pin count of 9208, over 400 pins higher than second place St. Ambrose at 8743. The difference between the Mustangs and fifth place Wartburg was nearly 900 pins.

Individually, Blake Walsh took home the individual title, averaging 243 pins per game while bowling a total pinfall of 1215 over five games, including three games over 245, with a 290 in his third game. Keegan Alexander and Zach Andresen also took home all-tournament team honors, finishing in third and fourth, respectively. Alexander would bowl a 1188, while Andresen was just two pins behind at 1186.

The Mustangs will return to the lanes at the Hoosier Classic next weekend.
