Men's and Women's Bowling Qualify for ITC Finals; Holste Qualifies for ISC Finals

ADDISON, Ill. - Both Mount Mercy bowling teams saw themselves qualify for the USBC ITC Finals, as Jacob Holste qualifies individually in the tournament over the weekend.

The men dominated their way through the opening round of the USBC postseason, finishing first at the end of 16, 32, 48, and 64 games. The team would fend off St. Ambrose, who finished the sectionals less than 100 pins behind. On the individual side, the Mustangs saw Jacob Holste qualify for ISC finals after a seventh place finish. Holste would bowl a tournament best 279 in game one, and would end in a tie, narrowly qualfying for finals in Green Bay.

On the women's side, the team would trail Wisconsin-Whitewater after 16 games bowled, before falling to fifth place after 32 games. The Mustangs would make up ground in the next series, jumping to fourth place after 48 games, before trailing only Maryville and Sacred Heart, finishing as the only non-NCAA institution to qualify for ITC finals out of the Addison sectional.

The Mustangs will next hit the lanes on March 19 at the NAIA National Championships, where ISC and ITC finals take place in April.
