Mustangs Finish Fourth on Day One of Mustang Fall Championship

MARION, Iowa — Mount Mercy men's golf finished fourth to end day one at the Mustang Fall Championship, carding a team score of 14-over at Hunters Ridge Golf Course. The Mustangs trailed Kirkwood, which led the event at 2-over, Kirkwood's B team at 7-over, and Park at 12-over.

Mount Mercy was led by Lincoln Beckett and Frederick Walker, who each tied for sixth individually at 2-over. Both provided steady rounds to keep the Mustangs within striking distance of the top three.

Cole Eberly and Ziwen Zhong followed, each tying for 16th at 5-over. Their consistent play rounded out Mount Mercy's scoring lineup and secured the team's top-four finish.

Mount Mercy's B and C squads also competed. Caleb Kirk and Andrew Brown paced the B team, tying for 13th at 4-over. Simeon Jauhiainen finished tied for 27th at 7-over, Juan De Olazabal tied for 32nd at 10-over, and Nathan Whalen tied for 34th at 11-over.

The Mustangs will wrap up the opening tournament of the season at Hunters Ridge, with the first tee shot slated for 9 a.m.
