Mustangs Place Two in Top 25 as the Team Takes Eighth at Mid-South Invite
NEWTON, Kan. - The Mustang men's golf team took home eighth at the Mid-South Invite, shooting a team total of 887 (306-295-286).
Fellow Heart institution MidAmerica Nazarene took home the team title, shooting a team total of 862 (292-277-293). They were followed in the top four by Friends, Nebraska Wesleyan, and Univ. of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
Ziwen Zhong led the Mustangs after round three, shooting a team best three-under, including two-under on the front nine of round three. He was joined by Wil Sigwarth in red figures on Wednesday, as Sigwarth would fire off a three-under front nine on his way to a two-under round.
Lincoln Beckett would improve his day one totals by nine shots over round three, shooting an even par round. Frank Haege was the fourth Mustang to fire off a score in red figures on the front nine, as he would shoot a two-under opening nine en route to a three-over round.
The Mustangs will return to the course at the Rohrman Invite in West Lafayette, Indiana starting on Sunday.
