Sasaki named NAIA all-American for second time

OLATHE, Kan. -- Mount Mercy's Yu Sasaki became a two-time all-American on Wednesday after being named an NAIA honorable mention all-American for the second year in a row.

Sasaki, a junior forward, was also a first-team all-Heart of America Athletic Conference pick for the second consecutive year after leading the Mustangs and finishing second in the Heart with 16 goals in 2021. He also assisted two others.

In his first season for Mount Mercy, Sasaki led the Heart of America with 11 goals. He was named the 2020 Heart of America Newcomer of the Year, a first-team all-conference pick, and NAIA honorable mention all-American.
