Mustangs Cap Indoor Season with National Championship Appearances

GAINSVILLE, Fla. - Mount Mercy's indoor track and field season came to a close Saturday with athletes representing the Mustangs at the 2026 NAIA National Championships.

Leading the way for the women's team, Abby Knepper competed in the 3,000-meter race and delivered a standout performance. Knepper crossed the line in 9:59.25 to place sixth overall, setting a new personal record in the event and earning her second All-American honor.

On the men's side, Caleb Rutherford represented the Mustangs in the shot put, finishing 24th overall with a throw of 15.27 meters on the national stage.

With the indoor season now complete, the Mustangs turn their focus to the 2026 outdoor campaign.
