Impressive Performances Propel Mount Mercy at Rittgers Invite

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Mount Mercy University secured multiple top-five finishes at the Rittgers Invitational, including a second-place finish in the men's 4x100 relay with a time of 41.94 seconds and notable performances by Trevor Leitheiser and Jack Stamp, who each claimed second place in the men's 400 and 1500 meters, respectively.

Sprints
Baylor Speidel finished 6th in the 100 Meters with a time of 10.70, while Jehmi Thompson placed 13th at 11.02. Jack Riley, Brady Marak, Chris Canas, and Marquinn Davis followed in 17th, 20th, 23rd, and 26th places, respectively. In the 400 Meters, Leitheiser secured 2nd with a time of 50.27, and BJ Huggins placed 5th at 52.53.

Middle Distance
In the 1500 Meters, Stamp achieved 2nd place with a time of 3:59.50, and Noah Gregoire was close behind in 3rd at 4:03.03. Brady Cortez and Ryan Mitchell finished 5th and 6th, while Matthew Schaul took 8th. Dylan Bledsoe, Jamie Hayes, and Josh Smith rounded out the results in 12th, 16th, and 17th places.

Hurdles
Levi Wilson-Bries was 9th in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 16.34. Tyler Morgan placed 13th at 18.19, and Brayden Kolosick did not finish.

Jumps
Oscar Nielsen placed 3rd in the High Jump, clearing 1.85m. In the Long Jump, Daylin Schaefer secured 2nd place with a mark of 6.65m.

Throws
In the Shot Put, Nate Jones placed 11th with a mark of 12.78m, followed by Brody Beecher and Nolan Frueh in 14th and 15th, both with a distance of 12.20m. Isaac Hernandez placed 16th at 11.90m. For the Discus, Hernandez achieved 14th with 36.81m, with Frueh, Beecher, and Jones following in 16th, 21st, and 24th places.

In the Hammer, Jones took 14th at 42.92m, and Omar Salinas and Beecher placed 16th and 17th. Alex Oxendine, Frueh, Hernandez, and Charles Sundquist rounded out the event. Owen McBride finished 4th in the Javelin with a throw of 46.41m, and Kolosick placed 7th. Reid Fridley fouled.
