Mustangs Open Season at the Mustang Gallop
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA | The Mount Mercy Men's Cross-Country team placed fourth at the Mustang Gallop Friday night to open their 2024 season.
Ryan Mitchell led the Mustangs placing 15th with a time of 16:04. Following close behind were teammates Lukas Lamparek (18th/16:10) and Brady Cortez (20th/16:14). Rounding out the Mustangs were Dylan Bledsoe (23rd/16:34), Trey Schulte (25th/16:53), Jonathan Williams (29th/17:11) and Josh Smith (35th/19:09).
Lance Sobaski of Wartburg was the top runner in the race, placing first with a time of 15:26 with teammate Solomon Zaugg finishing second at 15:27. Cornell College came in second place with a score of 53, followed by Dubuque (63), Mount Mercy (101), and Southeastern CC (147).
The Mustangs will be back on the course in Columbia, MO for the Larry Young Invitation on Sept. 20th at 5:30 PM CDT at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
