CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Mount Mercy fell to William Woods (MO) 6–1 on Friday at Busse Field. Despite the loss, the Mustangs' lone highlight came from a solo home run, marking its only run of the game.
Mount Mercy faced William Woods (MO) with Mount Mercy as the visiting team. The game saw its first action in the third inning when the Owls took the lead. Sammy Lohnes scored on a throwing error, giving them a 1–0 advantage.
Mount Mercy responded in the fourth inning with Calli Janik's solo home run to left field, leveling the score. However, William Woods answered back with a five-run inning. Sam Abernathy, Addie Rhea, Sara Foster, and Mariah Prince all contributed to the scoring, aided by a combination of hits and walks, pushing their lead to 6–1 by the end of the fourth.
