Mustangs beat Yellowjackets, close regular season on Saturday

LAMONI, Iowa — All five starters hit double figures as the Mount Mercy women's basketball team picked up a 74-57 road victory over Heart of America Athletic Conference foe Graceland on Wednesday night.

They won the final period as well to get the season sweep of the Yellowjackets (5-22, 2-16 Heart).

Sammy Mia knocked down five 3-pointers while pouring in a game-high 19 points for the Mustangs. Madison Dreckman did it all, totaling 13 points, 14 rebounds, and a team-best four assists. Annika Headington and Sassy Coleman each finished with 12 points and four boards, Kyla Richardson tallied 10 points, four rebounds, and four steals.

Rachel Buntin led three Yellowjackets in double figures with 17 points. Heaven Mbaruk had 12 points and seven rebounds, Madilyn Sager 12 points and four boards.
