Mustangs Place First in Qualifying as Dickson and Mat Aris Earn All-Tournament Nods
FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Mustangs secured a first place finish in qualifying once again at the McKendree Match Games, taking place in Illinois this past weekend. The tournament finish marks the third tournament win of the year in four tournaments.
The Mustangs beat out Lindenwood for the top spot, claiming first place by 66 pins with a total of 7797. SCAD Savannah ended their qualifying in third place at 7636, while fellow Heart school Missouri Baptist ended in fourth at 7519 pins.
On the individual side, Savannah Dickson earns yet another all-tournament team honor, placing in second place with a pinfall average of 204. Dickson bowled four of five games above a 200, with a high of 236 coming in game one. Also ending on the all-tournament team was Irdina Mat Aris, earning her firs all-tournament honor as a Mustang. The freshman from Malaysia ended with a total pinfall of an even 1000, bowling an average of 200, capped off by a high game of 218.
The tournament win caps off a successful first month of the season, as the team competes next at the Warhawk Open on Dec. 6.
