10 seasons at Mount Mercy (2015-present)

Diercks became Mount Mercy's head coach in March 2015 after serving as interim head coach since December 2014. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for the Mustangs for two seasons. Diercks was part of the coaching staff during the 2012-13 campaign when the men's team reached the final eight at the Intercollegiate Team Championships and the women's squad won the Midwest Collegiate Conference title.

Since Diercks took over, the Mustang bowling programs have enjoyed unprecedented success. The women's squad qualified for ITC Nationals in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Men have reached ITC nationals in 2021, 2022, and 2023 as well. Also, in 2018-19, the bowling programs had a pair of NAIA all-Americans. Then in 2019-20, the Mount Mercy women finished the season ranked second in the final National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) poll, while the men were 16th, their first top-20 finish in program history. Diercks was named the Kerm Helmer Women's Coach of the Year by the NCBCA and three of his players earned all-America status. Ayra Nur Jehan Aminuddin was also tabbed as the NCBCA Rookie of the Year and was a finalist for the International Bowling Media Association (IBMA) Storm Collegiate Bowler of the Year award. Since the 2019-20 breakout season, the Mustang women have finished each season No. 1 or No. 2 in the USBC National Power Rank and Coach Diercks has earned two additional Kerm Helmer Coach of the Year awards in 2021 and 2022.

In March 2017, Diercks was appointed to the Team USA Bowling coaching staff as an assistant coach. He is one of seven assistant coaches that work with the athletes at training camps and will be available to work with the teams in international competition. His previous coaching experience included time with the International Art of Bowling (IAB) and six years as head coach of the Linn-Mar High School boys' bowling team. With IAB, Diercks was a staff coach and manager, working with Jason Belmonte (three-time PBA Player of the Year), Diandra Asbaty (2012 Queens Champion) and USBC Gold Coach Ron Hoppe. He also served as Tournament Director for the Elite Youth Tour until 2014. At Linn-Mar, Diercks led the Lions to three Mississippi Valley Conference titles (2013, 2014, 2015) and two regional championships. He was the 2013 MVC Coach of the Year and the Metro Coach of the Year in 2010, 2011, and 2013.
