Two Mustangs in the Top-10 to Start Mustang Fall Championship
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Two Mustangs cracked the top-10 on Saturday to open the Mustang Fall Championship, as the squad finished in fifth on day one.
Gracie Murray led the team, finishing in fifth place with a score of nine-over. Murray would record five pars on her opening nine, and would tack on five more on the back, ending her first round. The second Mustang in was Carli Irvine. Irvine ended in ninth overall with a score of 10-over. Irvine would also fire off five pars on her front nine while carding the Mustangs' lone birdie in the round on the par five 12th.
The third Mustang in was Grace Haas, ending her round in 33rd at 21-over. Haas would record three pars on the front and one on the back. The final countable score belonged to Lauren McPhillips-Newcomb. McPhillips-Newcomb recorded four pars in her round, as she ended with a score of 24-over.
The Mustangs will look to bounce back on Sunday as they close out the Mustang Fall Championship at Hunters Ridge.
