Mustangs Place Third on Day One of Mustang Fall Invite
MARION, Iowa — Mount Mercy women's golf ended day one at the Mustang Fall Invite, posting a team score of 323 at Hunters Ridge Golf Course. The Mustangs trailed Indian Hills Community College (314) and Morningside (319). Doane rounded out the top four with a 329.
Individually, Mount Mercy was led by Gracie Murray, who earned a share of first place with a 3-over finish. She was the highest Mustang on the leaderboard and one of the top performers in the 14-team field.
Also contributing to Mount Mercy's team score was Chiara Bothe, who carded a 7-over to place in a tie for seventh. Carli Irvine followed closely, finishing at 8-over in a tie for 14th. Kyla Johnson shot 18-over to tie for 41st, while Lauren McPhillips-Newcomb closed at 22-over in 60th place.
The Mustangs will wrap up the Mustang Fall Invite on Sunday at Hunters Ridge in Marion.
