Mustangs Finish Sixth at St. Kate's Fall Invite
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Mount Mercy placed sixth at the St. Kate's Fall Invite, finishing with a two-day team total of 622 at Eagle Valley Golf Club in Woodbury, Minnesota. Carleton captured the team title with a 601, followed by host St. Catherine at 607, Saint Benedict at 611 and Gustavus Adolphus at 616.
Individually, Chiara Bothe led the Mustangs with a tie for sixth overall, carding rounds of 74 and 74 for a 148. Gracie Murray followed with a 152 after rounds of 73 and 79, placing in a tie for ninth. Carli Irvine tied for 16th, finishing with scores of 75 and 879 for a 154. Lauren McPhillips-Newcomb posted rounds of 89 and 79 for a 168, tying for 52nd.
Two Mount Mercy individuals also competed. Bretlyn Decker recorded an opening 85 and closed with a 86 to finish at 171, tying for 59th. Kyla Johnson shot rounds of 81 and 90 for a 171, also tying for 59th. Grace Haas rounded out the Mustang competitors, tying for 68th with scores of 92 and 87 for a 179.
The Mustangs will next compete at Ellis Park GC in a dual with Coe on Thursday.
