Bothe Claims Individual Title; Mustangs Claim Second Team Title of the Fall at Virginia McCoy Fall Invite

PARKVILLE, Mo. - The Mustangs carried positive momentum from round one to round two, claiming their second tournament victory of the fall season at the Virginia McCoy Fall Invite, hosted by Park in Parkville.

The Mustangs would shoot a 330 in round one before shooting a tournament low 317 in round two, claiming the team title over host Park by 16 shots. Fellow Heart school Baker would finish in third, shooting a two day total of 678 (343-335), while Truman State rounded out the top four at a 697 (356-341).

On the individual side, Chiara Bothe claimed her second individual title of the season, ending the tournament at seven over par, shooting a two round total of 149 (76-73). Over the course of 36 holes, Bothe only had 10 holes where she would drop a stroke, while she would birdie six holes, recording a par on 20 of 36 holes. 

Gracie Murray would card a total of 156 for her tournament, shooting an 80 and 76, ending in a tie for third place. Murray would card a birdie on four holes in her final round, as she would end the front nine at one under par thanks to three birdies on the front nine.

Rounding out the top 10 for the Mustangs was Carli Irvine, ending in solo eighth with a 164 (84-80). On the individual side, Kyla Johnson ended just outside the top 10 with a solo 12th place finish with a tournament score of 170.

The Mustangs will return to the course in Missouri next week at the Heart Conference Preview, taking place in Smithville at Paradise Pointe.
