Mustangs Showcase Competitive Edge at the Bumble Rumble

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Mount Mercy's womens track and field team delivered a strong performance at the Bumble Rumble 2025, held on January 18 at the St. Ambrose University Wellness & Recreation Center. Competing against top talent from the region, the Mustangs excelled across a variety of events, showcasing depth and determination.

Highlighting the meet, Bre Nail placed third in the women's shot put with a throw of 13.03 meters, achieving one of the top marks of the day. Nail was closely followed by Ava Conrad, who secured sixth place with a throw of 12.39 meters, and Alyssa Striegel, who placed tenth with a distance of 12.15 meters.

On the track, Corinne Gadient demonstrated endurance and tactical execution in the women's 800-meter run, finishing fourth with a time of 2:21.18. Catie Reittinger also displayed promise, clocking 2:28.31 to secure fifth place.

The women's 4x400 meter relay team continued the Mustangs' strong showing, capturing fifth place with a collective time of 4:25.40, emphasizing teamwork and consistency.

In the women's pole vault, Carla Santos earned a top-five finish, clearing 3.05 meters to tie for fifth place. Haley Hartshorne represented Mount Mercy in the high jump, finishing tenth with a leap of 1.45 meters.

Mount Mercy will next compete at the Cyclone Open in Ames, Iowa, on January 24th. The start time will be announced at a later date.
