Mount Mercy Athletes Earn Top Finishes at Mustang Open
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Mount Mercy University showcased its depth at the Mustang Distance Carnival & Open with significant performances, including a second-place finish by Carla Santos in the pole vault at 3.08 meters.
Brooklyn Johnson placed 13th in the Women's 100 Meters Preliminaries with a time of 12.84. In the Women's 200 Meters, Esther Oyunge finished 33rd with a time of 29.17.
Catie Reittinger secured 6th place in the Women's 800 Meters, finishing in 2:24.16. Ashlie Kascel followed in 15th with a time of 2:37.53.
Abby Knepper took 4th place in the Women's 1500 Meters with a time of 4:45.75, while Kalin Rotzoll was 6th at 5:00.51. In the Women's 5000 Meters, Emma Althoff finished 9th with a time of 19:00.08.
Johnson placed 3rd in the Women's Triple Jump with a distance of 10.89m and 5th in the Women's Long Jump at 5.01m.
Miyah Fox earned 2nd place in the Women's Javelin with a throw of 35.78m. In the Women's Hammer, Natalie DeFord placed 7th with a mark of 45.59m.
The next challenge for the Mustangs unfolds on their home turf in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as they host the Debacker Invitational on Saturday, April 18th.
