Mustangs roll to third straight win
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Mount Mercy women's volleyball team extended their winning streak to three matches with a dominant performance against Culver-Stockton on Tuesday night at Hennessey Recreation Center. The Mustangs rolled to a 25-9, 25-18, 25-9 straight-set win over the Wildcats.
Cassidy Boche (FR/Cedar Rapids, Iowa)'s 13 kills led a balanced Mount Mercy offense. Mackenzie Murphy (SO/Iowa City, Iowa) added 11 kills, Maddie Bell (SR/Ely, Iowa) seven, and Abbi Tunis (SR/Davenport, Iowa) six. Kayla Daggett (SR/Madison, Wis.) and Gabi Delsing (SR/Coralville, Iowa) -- the reigning Heart of America Setter and Defender of the Week -- topped the Mustangs (7-2, 7-2 Heart) with 23 assists and 30 digs, respectively. Bell also finished with a team-high three blocks.
Mount Mercy will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday when they host William Penn (12-4, 7-2 Heart) at 1:00 p.m. at Hennessey Rec Center. They'll see Culver-Stockton (2-9, 2-6 Heart) again on Tuesday, Nov. 3, then wrap up the regular season at home against Grand View (9-0, 7-0 Heart) on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7:00 p.m.
