Pride hand Mustangs their first league loss

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- Mount Mercy came out strong in their quest for a fourth consecutive league win, but after winning the opening set the Mustangs dropped three in a row to Clarke in a 16-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-17 victory by the Pride in Heart of America Athletic Conference women's volleyball at the Kehl Center.

Mount Mercy (7-6, 3-1 Heart) continues a four-match road stretch this weekend in Missouri. The Mustangs face Missouri Valley (6-12, 1-3 Heart) on Friday at 7:00 pm in Marshall, Mo., then take on 12th-ranked Central Methodist (13-2, 4-0 Heart) on Saturday at 1:00 pm in Fayette, Mo.

Cassidy Boche and Mackenzie Murphy hit double digits in kills against the Pride (6-8, 3-1 Heart). Boche tallied 13 kills to go along with eight digs while Murphy finished with 10 kills and nine digs. Olivia Makinen added seven kills and a team-best six blocks. Hailey Hested totaled 35 assists, Rylie Mussman a team-high 15 digs.
