Mustangs end homestand with 3-1 win over Pride

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Mount Mercy women's volleyball team topped Clarke, 3-1, Tuesday night in Heart of America Athletic Conference action at Hennessey Recreation Center. The Mustangs took the four-set match by scores of 25-21, 29-31, 25-19, and 25-14.

Maggie Peters had a match-high 18 kills for Mount Mercy. Seven different Mustangs combined for 55 kills, including 11 by Mackenzie Murphy. Hailey Hested tallied a match-high 46 assists. Rylie Mussman had 29 digs and Abby Redmond had 23. Murphy, Mussman, and Redmond combined for Mount Mercy's seven service aces.

The Mustangs improved to 10-11 overall and 6-6 in the Heart. Clarke fell to 10-13, 7-5 in the league. Mount Mercy returns to the road for matches at Peru State (3-21, 1-9 Heart) at 3:30 pm Friday and at Graceland (1-16, 0-9 Heart) at 11:00 am Saturday. The Mustangs are at home Tuesday, Oct. 19, versus Grand View (13-11, 9-3 Heart) at 7:00 pm.
