Loss snaps 4-match winning streak

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Mount Mercy women's volleyball team fell to 24th-ranked Grand View, 3-0, Tuesday night at Hennessey Recreation Center. The Vikings snapped the Mustangs' 4-match winning streak by scores of 25-14, 25-15, and 25-23.

Six different Mustangs combined for 23 kills, with Cassidy Boche leading the way with eight. Hailey Hested had all 23 Mount Mercy assists. Mackenzie Murphy had a team-high 17 digs, while Rylie Mussman and Hested added 15 and 13 respectively. Murphy and Brooke Beatty each had one service ace for the Mustangs.

Mount Mercy fell to 12-12 overall and 8-7 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Grand View improved to 18-12, 11-3 in the Heart. The Mustangs close out their home schedule at noon on Saturday, hosting Evangel (15-10, 7-6 Heart) for Senior Day. Mount Mercy closes out the regular season on the road at Culver-Stockton (8-16, 4-9 Heart) on Tuesday, Oct. 26, MidAmerica Nazarene (11-15, 6-7 Heart) on Friday, Oct. 29, and fifth-ranked Park (20-2, 13-0 Heart) on Saturday, Oct. 30.
