CANTON, Mo. -- Sparked by Mackenzie Murphy and Maggie Peters, the Mount Mercy women's volleyball team got back to .500 with a four-set victory over Heart of America Athletic Conference foe Culver-Stockton on Tuesday night at Charles Field House.
The Wildcats (9-18, 5-11 Heart) won the opening set, 25-22, before the Mustangs (13-13, 9-8 Heart) dominated set two, 25-12. They followed that with 25-20 and 25-21 victories in sets three and four. Mount Mercy closes out the regular season on the road this weekend, taking on MidAmerica Nazarene on Friday at 7:00 pm in Olathe, Kan., and Park on Saturday at 2:00 pm in Parkville, Mo.
Murphy had a team-high 19 kills while hitting .326 against Culver-Stockton. Peters was equally dominant, totaling 16 kills with a .297 attack percentage. Hailey Hested tallied 48 assists, Rylie Mussman a team-best 22 digs. Kendall McNaull finished with five blocks, Olivia Makinen had four.
